OCR PDF in Arabic with GekiPDF: Tesseract reads right-to-left text from a 300 DPI scan

Convert scanned Arabic PDFs to searchable text. Tesseract language pack handles right-to-left script. Upload up to 50 MB, no signup, no watermark.

Runs the same engine as our OCR PDF tool.

Upload an Arabic PDF scanned at 300 DPI and GekiPDF runs Tesseract with the Arabic language pack. The tool adds a hidden searchable text layer, so you can select, copy, and search words that were previously just pixels. Right-to-left script is handled automatically; no manual direction settings needed.

A clean scan matters more than file size. At 200–300 DPI, character shapes stay distinct enough for accurate recognition. Lower than 150 DPI, thin strokes merge and accuracy drops. Your file must be under 50 MB, and you get 40 conversions per hour per IP. Files are deleted after one hour.

    Frequently asked questions

Does GekiPDF support Arabic right-to-left text?

Yes. The tool uses Tesseract's Arabic language pack, which recognizes right-to-left script. You don't need to set direction manually; the OCR engine handles it internally.

What scan quality should I use for best results?

Scan at 200–300 DPI with clean, high-contrast pages. Avoid shadows or skew. Below 150 DPI, Arabic letterforms become too blurry for reliable recognition.

Will my original layout be preserved?

The tool adds a transparent text layer over your existing image. Visual layout stays unchanged; only the hidden text becomes searchable and copyable.
