    A 300 DPI colour page is about 1.2 MB; the same page at 150 DPI greyscale is about 150 KB. If your scanner output is full of such pages, a 16-page document can be nearly 20 MB. Use GekiPDF's compress tool to downsample those bitmaps—the text stays sharp, and the file becomes small enough to email.

    Will compressing my scan make the text unreadable?

    No. The tool keeps the text layer intact. At Recommended (150 DPI) most text remains crisp. For very fine print, try Light first.

    What if my PDF is larger than 50 MB?

    You can't upload over 50 MB here. Split the PDF into smaller parts using split-pdf, then compress each part separately.

    How many conversions can I do per hour?

    Up to 40 conversions per IP address per hour. That's plenty for compressing a batch of scans.
