    DFA appointment systems cap each attachment at a set size, often around 2 MB. A single 300 DPI colour scan of an ID can be 1.2 MB per page, so two pages already exceed the limit.     Will compression make my ID unreadable for DFA staff?

    No. The Recommended preset (~150 DPI) keeps text sharp enough for legible scans. Extreme (~96-120 DPI) is riskier for small print; use it only if you need a very small file.

    What if my scan is still over the cap after compressing?

    Try Light (~200 DPI) first—it reduces size while keeping high quality. If that fails, split the PDF into separate pages using our split tool and attach each page individually.

    How long does compression take?

    About 1 second for a typical 16-page scan. Total time depends on file size and server load, but most jobs finish within a minute for files under 10 MB.
