    Android scanner apps save every page as a high-resolution colour JPEG, so a short scan is already 10 MB. That size blocks email attachments and slows uploads. GekiPDF rewrites the file with Ghostscript presets that drop resolution while keeping text readable. Pick Light (~200 DPI), Recommended (~150 DPI), or Extreme (~96-120 DPI) — each shrinks your file without touching the text layer.

    Does this remove the searchable text from my scan?

    No, the text layer is preserved. The tool only downsamples the bitmap images, so you can still copy or search text if your scanner created an OCR layer.
